We Call This Our 'Gold Room'

This room was painted like any other room. The

plan for the room was to make the walls smooth and with gold trim (gilded). The walls are 1/4" masonite applied over the walls and painted with black lacquer. Over the walls we added 1800 linear feet of molding which was

gilded with 23.5 ct. gold before being applied to the walls. The ceiling has thirty seven 2'x2' plaster tiles lacquered and gilded. Fifteen crown and 15 frieze 5'x1' moldings were lacquered and gilded and then applied. The built in components we finished in

place by applying black lacquer and gold gild to the trim.

This project took 2 months to complete. And it is gorgeous!
